This week in sports!

Happy full week back at UK everybody! Winter sports are back in full swing this week! Here’s the schedule.

Men’s Sports:

The basketball team will try to improve their SEC record with two games this week.  First, on Tuesday at 7 o’clock the Wildcats will take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Rupp Arena, you can catch the game on ESPN.  On Saturday, the Wildcats will travel to Alabama to take on the Auburn Tigers at 9, this game will be on ESPNU.

Next Sunday, the tennis team will have two matches against Northern Kentucky University and Morehead State University.  The match against NKU will be at 11 a.m. and the MSU match will be at 5 p.m.  Both matches will be in Lexington.

The golf team‘s season resumes this week in Palm Beach, Florida.  They will participate in the Alumni Match on Sunday the 20th.

Women’s Sports:

The UK Hoops team will strive to continue their winning streak with two games this week.  On Thursday they will take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs at 7 in Memorial.  On Sunday at 2 the team will face the Auburn Tigers.

The annual Excite Night for the gymnastics team will be on Friday at 7 o’clock in Memorial Coliseum during their match against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Next Sunday, the tennis team will have two matches against Morehead State University and Belmont University.  The match against MSU will be at 10 a.m. and the Belmont match will be at 6 p.m.  Both matches will be in Lexington.

Co-Ed Sports:

The rifle team has two competitions back to back in Mississippi this weekend.  On Friday they will take on the Memphis Tigers and on Saturday they will go against the Ole Miss Rebels.

The track and field team will travel to Albuquergue, New Mexico (home of High School Musical 2) for the New Mexico Cherry & Silver event.  This will take place on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m.

    If you haven’t been to excite night for uk gymnastics-you are missing out. Its absolutely awesome.
