UK Hoops Set to Double-Dip Against Auburn.

The Hoops are set to possibly utterly demolish Auburn University today, after the men’s team killed the Tigers in Alabama last night. The Hoops will face the 13-5 (2-3 SEC) Auburn Tigers today at 2pm today in Memorial Coliseum. After falling at Texas A&M a week ago and Tennessee Thursday, the Tigers are seeking redemption against the 6th ranked Hoops and their home court advantage. The Hoops are rolling on a 16 game winning streak and school-record home winning streak of 32. Like the Cats, Auburn likes to press on defense, so this promises to be a very up-tempo, physical game that may result in lots of turnovers.

The three main players to watch from Auburn are:

#0 Hasina Muhammad- Muhammad leads the team with an average of 16.9 ppg and an average of 5.9 rpg. She ranks fourth in the conference overall for double-digit scoring. She is a 6’1″ sophomore guard from Memphis, Tn.

#32 Tyrese Tanner- Tyrese is a 6’1″ junior forward from Birmingham, Al. She averages 13.1 ppg and .806 from the charity strike. She has 37 steals this season and 21 blocks.

#14 Blanche Alverson- Alverson clocks the most minutes per game at 31. She averages 5.7 on the boards and 12.4ppg. She has fantastic free throw percentage of .842. She is a 6’3″ Senior forward from Andaluisa, Al.

I’m looking forward to seeing how the Cats contend with a team that plays defense similarly to themselves. With that defense, comes a sure to be exciting game in Lexington today.  Look for the Cats to pull through with the victory for their 17th straight win. You can catch the action on UK IMG with Neil Price or on the SEC network today at 2pm.

Go Cats! @JC_KSR
