-It’s finally time to put that 30-point drubbing in Knoxville behind us. Or at least we get a chance to when Vanderbilt comes to Rupp tonight. The game is at 8:00 on the SEC network and if there’s ever been a must-win scenario, this is it. We CANNOT lose to Vanderbilt and expect the committee to put us in the bracket. Vegas seems confident though, as Kentucky enters the game as a 12 point favorite. I, on the other hand, am officially on edge.
-Coach Cal has done some talkin’ the past couple days. Yesterday he was on Katz’ Korner with Andy Katz where he had some very interesting things to say about Nerlens Noel. Over the past few years we’ve seen Calipari be painfully honest about when it’s in a players’ best interests to go pro (painful for me, that is, because he always tells them to leave). But Cal said he would hold off advising Nerlens until he is further along in the rehab process. It looks like Nerlens’ sophomore season at Kentucky could be a real, albeit slim, possibility.
-This year’s team got you down in the dumps? Don’t worry too much, there’s always the historically dominant recruiting class that Coach Cal has assembled for next year. Scout released their new team rankings and to no one’s surprise Kentucky is #1. Oh, and Dakari Johnson tweeted that he measured in at 7 feet tall for the first time today. College basketball, you have been warned.
