The trade deadline for the NBA is at 3 PM on Thursday, and Eric Bledsoe has been heavily discussed in the trade talks. Bledsoe has averaged 21.8 minutes per game backing up Chris Paul, the best point guard in the league. There were some rumors about a trade involving the Celtics and Kevin Garnett for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan. These talks have ceased according to sources, and a deal with the Utah Jazz is more likely.
Bledsoe to the Jazz would involve a trade for Paul Millsap, and would be a certain change of roles for Bledsoe. Utah is in need of a starting point guard, and could package Bledsoe with Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors to build a young core going forward. The Jazz are also in need of defensive help, which Bledsoe can provide.
My money is on Bledsoe staying with the Clippers. With the Clippers he gets to lead the second best five-man unit in defensive efficiency at 89.3, while learning from the ultimate floor general. Hopefully Bledsoe stays with the Clippers at least for the remainder of this season, as they have the most realistic chances of winning it all out of any of these teams. Stay tuned as very few ever know if a deal is actually going to happen. Remember that the deadline is at 3 PM tomorrow, so a deal has to get done very soon.
