One of the last three big recruits remaining, Julius Randle, announced today that he will be making his decision on March 20th. The announcement will be telivised on ESPN U and is set for 12:00 PM. If you had to put money on it, Julius Randle is probably the most likely of the remaining three to pick Kentucky. Earlier today the Herald-Leader polled several recruiting “experts” on where certain recruits will end up, and 1 of the 5 experts expects Randle to pick UK. While those results aren’t great, it’s worth noting that Jason Jordan, who works for USA today and is very close to Randle and his family, has said since back in September that he thinks Julius ends up at Kentucky. I guess we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer to see what his actual choice will be.

I think we have a decent chance with him because he sees lots of clock at the power forward position. Kyle Wiltjer can’t make bodies fly the way Julius can and in the incoming class only Marcus Lee might be considered a PF and he doesn’t have the bulk Julius has.
However, the position is even wider open at Kansas. They have Perry Ellis and Kevin Young but they are no competition for Julius.
Julius is an instant starter wherever he goes so it will be wherever he feels the most comfortable. That’s the way it always is.
