Just a friendly reminder about some bracket stats as everyone ignores work today in favor of basketball (Stats below are from USA Today):
-Chance of filling out a perfect bracket: 1 in 9.2 quintillion
-AKA 1 in 9,223,372,036,854,775,808
-AKA one billion, 9.2 billion times
-AKA 500,000 times more than our national debt (which is $17 trillion)
Want to be geeked out some more? Check out this short video from DePaul math professor (HEY I GO TO SCHOOL THERE!!) Jeff Bergen about the odds of a perfect bracket.
So, if you know a lil bit about basketball, your odds of a perfect bracket go down to 1 in 128 billion- meaning that if everyone in the US filled out a bracket, we’d see a perfect one once every 400 years.
SO YOU’RE SAYING THERE’S A CHANCE?!

I love this post. The premise is just so true. Nobody gets it right. Just ask the 10 zillion that picked New Mexico; like I did.
