Saturday Football Scrimmage Notes

by @ 5:00 pm. Filed under Football

Ronnie Shields will be the Cats do-it-all Tight End this year.

Saturday the Cats took the field and had a full contact scrimmage at Commonwealth Stadium. Here are a few notes from the scrimmage:

- At the Running Back position, Raymond Sanders played very well and made a few big plays. CoShik Williams did not participate fully after banging up his shoulder during practice.

-Defensive linemen Donte Rumph and Taylor Wyndham  were also limited today suffering from ankle injuries during practice.

-Pat Towles has been spending his Spring Break in Lexington with the football team. Towles has been with the team everyday this week, and has spent a lot of his time with recruits. Towles leadership skills are already beginning to blossom, and Joker knows it.

-Joker believes that TE Ronnie Shields and WR Demarco Robinson will be playmakers that need to have the ball in their hands during the game. Shields is showing out in Spring ball, and Joker even believes they’re giving him too much responsibility to handle. It will be exciting to see how Shields improves as he gets more touches.
