Is this recruiting stuff getting boring? No. A few notes on what we’re all thinking about:
Calipari isn’t stupid enough to go on national television without landing at least one of them. If you don’t know who “they” are I’ve got no words for you at this point. After hearing that the Bluegrass Recruiting Baron and current National Champion coach is doing an interview with ESPN during the Decision 2012 I’m starting to think we’re going to land both of these won-and-done stars.
Cal’s history of recruiting success gives him (and us) plenty of confidence going into tomorrow; couple that with the momentum from #8 and the fact that both Nerlens and Shabazz only get one year to win a title and the obvious choice for both superstars is KENTUCKY.
I’ve felt good about Nerlens from the get-go. Shabazz, I’m a little nervous about. But forget the whole “I’ll be happy if we get one of them” mentality. This is KENTUCKY. We want them both and not landing one of them tomorrow will leave somewhat of a bitter taste in my mouth until March Madness. That may sound selfish, and even a little absurd considering how good our class already is, but why anyone as good as they are would go anywhere other than KENTUCKY is beyond me right now.
If you hadn’t heard, Christian Watford and Cody Zeller are returning for a sophomore season with that team from the Big Ten. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to watch Nerlens go all Anthony Davis on Zeller. I’d like to say something catchy about Shabazz reigning 3’s and slashing all day on Watford, but like I said, I’m still nervous.
Tomorrow is the biggest recruiting day in the history of basketball. I’m actually going to be a little sad when all of this is over on Wednesday night. Winning #8 then getting word that we have the #1 recruiting class (again) will be like having my birthday the week before Christmas. My birthday is the week before Christmas. This is going to be even better. #2012NationalChamps #Decision2012 #GetNerlens&Shabazz #RepeatAcrossTheChest
