This. Is. Awesome.

I don’t usually like to put videos up here because it makes me look like a lazy blogger, but this one is just awesome.  The maker of this video captures perfectly the evolution of UK basketball from the Tubby Smith era to the Calipari era.  In all fairness, I don’t think they should have lumped together Smith & Billy Gillispie, but that’s minor.  In seven minutes, watch UK basketball change right before your eyes.  From the Jeannine Edwards “bad question” scene to seeing the players hanging out with Jay-Z, it’s awesome to watch just how much of the attitude around the program has changed in the last few years.  Obviously, this video was created right before this past season, so there’s no national championship footage but it was great to re-live some of the most lasting images from the past few years that led us to #8 – the Liggins/Cal kiss, Wall’s game-winner in his first game as a Cat, the Boogie “call me” game, the Harrellson ball-spike off Jared Sullinger, etc.  Kentucky basketball is here to stay this time around, and its journey from nothing to No. 1 is truly amazing to watch.

You already did point it out but there is no way that Tubby losing to MSU in double ot in the elite 8 compares in any way to BCG losing a home game to G-Webb…

Yeah, we had “a long way to go.” I wish someone had saved that quote and brought it up the next year.
