Per Kyle Tucker of the Courier Journal, Kentucky RB Brandon Gainer will be leaving UK. Gainer did not practice with the team during the spring to focus on academics. He entered the spring fifth on the depth chart for his position. Gainer was a much anticipated recruit when he arrived at the University of Kentucky. He was a top-40 RB out of high school, though he only carried the ball 11 times for Kentucky in 2011.  It’s unfortunate to see another player leaving the team this spring, though the details have not all been released on Gainer’s exit at this juncture.
