Kyra Elzy has stepped down from her position as Assistant Head Coach for UK Hoops today. She will be joining her alma mater University of Tennessee as an assistant coach there and recruiting coordinator.

Matthew Mitchell spoke today about Elzy, and said he “appreciates all the time and effort Coach Elzy has put into the Kentucky program over the last four years.” KSR College’s own Ally Tucker will miss her dearly, as she is an Oldham County native herself. Mitchell knew it was Elzy’s dream to return to her previous stomping grounds and coach one day, and he completely understands and respects her decision.

A national search for a replacement will be held immediatly. Thank God Shalon Pillow is still on staff, or today would be a dark, dark day.
