The 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London may need to brace themselves—the Unibrow could be coming.
That’s right, straight out of the BBN, Anthony Davis could be on his way to join the USA basketball team in August to compete for a second consecutive gold medal at the Summer games in London. The National Player of the Year is the only collegiate player even being considered.
How good are Davis’ chances? Well…. not that great. The need for Davis arose when Dwight Howard was injured, which brought a huge problem to the center position. Then, the supposed solution was supposed to be LaMarcus Aldridge—however, his hip will keep him from playing.
Now, Davis is essentially competing against perennial NBA all-stars: Kevin Love, Tyson Chandler, Chris Bosh, Blake Griffin, and Lamar Odom to name a few. Those names sound familiar? Even a person who really doesn’t watch the NBA would know at least a couple of them.
So, all we can do right now is wait for the decision to be made. Still—how awesome is it that a man who currently walks among us (okay, well finals are done, so technically he’s not—let’s not get technical here) could be playing in the Olympics?
Time will tell if Davis will get his shot to play on an already impressive team. The Unibrow will bring an incredible defensive presence to Coach K’s USA squad, one that is incredibly loaded with offensive talent.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing our top athlete in London in August!
