Good evening ladies and gentlemen.  The Kentucky Derby is over, your mint-julep buzz is wearing off, and its starting to sink in that the $50 you foolishly bet on the horse in gate one is gone forever.  With the end of the Derby comes the inevitable talk of whether the winner will have a shot at the Triple Crown, the most impressive achievement in all of horse racing. The Triple Crown is a rarity, as horse racing fans haven’t seen it happen since Affirmed did it back in 1978. Maybe it will happen this year, but I wouldn’t bet on it.  However, if you need to make back the money you lost at the track today, I think a wiser bet would be on the possibility of Darius Miller winning the basketball “Triple Crown”.

Having already won a state championship and a national championship, Darius Miller is only missing a NBA championship to complete his crown. With the NBA draft just around the corner, Miller is projected as an early second round pick, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he sneaks into the late first round which would land him on a championship contending team (Heat please!)  At 6’7″ with the ability to play multiple positions, Miller is a proven winner who has shown that he will do anything it takes (most notably coming off the bench this year) to win. I think Darius Miller has a real chance to contribute to a playoff team immediately.
