With Kentucky advancing in the Men’s NCAA tournament today it’s time to update where they stand in regards to winning the Capital One Cup. Here are the current standings, with not much changed at the top:
If the Tennis Cats can win one more game and reach the elite eight, they will secure a top ten ranking and earn some points towards the C1Cup. If they can reach the Final four and earn a third place ranking that will earn them 10 points and win us the Cup.
The Bat Cats also have a chance to bring home the trophy. However with the College World Series over a month away that won’t be decided for a while. The Tennis Cats have a shot to win the trophy in the next couple of weeks. Go Big Blue!

Andrew, you understand this is not a static thing right?
Still multiple sports out, several of which UK does not compete in. Three 60 pointers still remain and two 20 pointers so we need to get as high as we can in both tennis and baseball to make up for schools with chances for all 5. The rifle team finishing second split 12 points with 6 to the men, and 6 to the women. We need Georgia to take down North Carolina in tennis, and we need to advance just to catch up.

Yes I knew it wasn’t exact but I wasn’t aware UNC was doing well in Tennis. Though they are currently ranked 15th so I will be rooting for UGA to keep them from moving into a top ten finish. Also UNC is currently ranked sixth in Lacrosse but lost in the opening round of the tournament so hopefully they wont earn any points from that.
Its going to be interesting to see how everything plays out, thanks for pointing out that this race is not as cut and dry as i thought.
