Good afternoon Reds fans! This is the first installment on a new series hosted on KSRCollege.com in which I will be covering Lexington’s favorite Major League Baseball team, the Cincinnati Redlegs. Last week the Reds continued their streak of mediocrity, going 3-3 against the Pirates, Brewers and Nationals. This week however, the Reds (in particular first baseman Joey Votto) have started strong, beating the Nationals in what would be their last home game before heading on a 7 game road trip. The upcoming roadtrip will be an important early season test for the Reds, as they play three hot teams in the Braves, Mets, and begin interleague play against the New York Yankees. How will the Reds fare this week? Tune into Fox Sports Ohio to find out.
Upcoming Games:
Monday: @ Braves 7:10
Tuesday: @ Braves 7:10
Wednesday: @ Mets 7:10
Thursday: @ Mets 1:10
Friday: @ Yankees 7:05
Saturday: @ Yankees 1:05
What to watch for:
- Can Joey Votto continue his hot streak? Yesterday vs. the Nationals he went 4-5 with 3 homeruns, 6 RBI, the last homerun being a walk-off grandslam. Impressive sir.
- Does Homer Bailey have a future with the Reds or in Major League Baseball? We’ll find out tonight vs the Braves.
- Will Mike Leake finally win a game? If he doesn’t win his next start, don’t be surprised to see the Cuban Missle take his spot in the starting rotation.
- Can long time Louisville Bats great Todd Frazier step up at 3B while Scott Rolen is on the DL?
Go Reds. (Go Cats.)
