The Cats are the #2 seed in Purdue’s regional and will play Kent State on Friday. Purdue was selected as the host school but their stadium is currently under construction thus their regional will be at 100 miles away from campus at US Steel Yard, home of the independent Gary Southshore RailCats. The head of the NCAA selection committee said that the non conference schedule was the reason that UK did not get to host a regional.

Did the committee know that Purdue did not have a home field to play on? Great job! It is better for UK to have to play 100 miles from a host team, then have to play in front of their fans.

Yes, that’s how Purdue presented the bid.
