Cats Finally Getting the Recognition They Deserve

by @ 4:00 pm. Filed under All Cats Everything

After a week has past since it was announced that the men’s basketball team ended the season and spring semester with an average 3.12 GPA, the national media is finally taking notice.

USA Today has a nice article on the teams accomplishment on their blog.

The article makes subtle jabs toward Bob Knight and the Coalition on Intercollegiate Athletics. It mentions Bob Knight’s comment last spring when he said the 2010 team failed to attend class. It also mentions Calipari’s quote directed towards those like Knight and the COIA which says “all this stuff bitter old men say that they don’t go to class is not true.”

AOL Sporting News also posted an article on the teams accomplishment as well, mentioning the criticism one-and-done players and the schools of such players receive, believing that all that is on their mind is the NBA draft and that Spring Semester is a waste of time, which is obviously not the case.

Hopefully other national media sites will take notice as well and praise the hard work our players managed to do off the court while working hard on the court also.
