Want to beat the heat and keep your mind off the fact that there is 136 days left until UK beats Duke? Here are a few activities around Lexington guaranteed to make you look and feel cool.
For the college kids there’s always something going on. Whether its the nightlife or the pools there’s always something to do. Pazzos is a great place to get a bite to eat and a drink while watching the Olympics trials. Huge Jass offers a great atmosphere sometimes complete with live music and they always have the latest sporting event on TV. 524 Angliana has a great pool for their residents and guests of the residents, and you may even see Randall Cobb. Like Angliana, the Lex apartments not only offers a nice pool, but they also have an outdoor grill and a shaded area where you can kick back and relax.
For the 21+ crowd there are endless options. From the Pavilion to South Limestone there is something going on almost every day of the week. From crawfish boils to fishbowl races and Thursday Night Live you’re guaranteed a good time.
For parents and children there are also plenty of options. There are multiple pools open to the public and Champs offers a variety of activities. They recently opened a mini golf course in addition to their indoor roller rink and laser tag course. Parents also want to keep in mind the various sport camps that happen at UK and Transylvania University. Coach Cal will be having his annual camp featuring previous Wildcats August 1-4 and Transylvania will hold a variety of camps including their All-Sports camp. The Coach Cal camps are a great way for children to see their favorite Wildcats one last time.
I hope these ideas will help everyone have a cool and enjoyable summer.
