…and for those who are thoroughly confused as to who you should cheer for in the NBA now (MKG vs. Jorts? Nazr vs Enes??), here’s a scorecard to keep you updated.
(An asterisk means the player was on that team’s 2011-12 roster but are NOT currently on the 2012-13 roster for that team. Some, like Jodie Meeks are free agents this year.)
Celtics: Rajon Rondo
Nets: Keith Bogans*
Knicks: Josh Harrellson
76ers: Jodie Meeks*
Raptors: Jamaal Magloire*
Warriors: –
Clippers: Eric Bledsoe

Suns: –
Kings: Demarcus Cousins, Chuck Hayes
Bulls: Marquis Teague
Cavaliers: Kelenna Azubuike
Pistons: Tayshaun Prince, Brandon Knight
Pacers: –
Bucks: Doron Lamb
Mavericks:
Rockets: Patrick Patterson, Terrence Jones
Grizzlies: –
Hornets: Anthony Davis, Darius Miller
Spurs: –
Hawks: –
Bobcats: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Heat: –
Magic: DeAndre Liggins*, Daniel Orton*

I apologize if I missed any names. Just from this, it looks like most Kentucky fans will cheer for the Hornets (after last night), the Rockets, the Kings or the Pistons. The Brow & Darius, PPat & Terrence Jones, Boogie & Chuck Hayes, and Tayshaun & B-Knight — talk about dynamic duos.
No matter which team you pick on a given night next season, just looking at UK players who were either on an NBA roster last year or are already on one for the 2012-13 season, that is simply incredible. Putting all these guys together, Kentucky would have been represented on 18 of 30 teams (60% of NBA teams). Obviously, since this is the offseason, some guys’ situations are more up in the air (for example, someone like Orton), and that number could change. At this rate, though, Kentucky will be represented on every single NBA team in a few short years.
That’s the Kentucky Effect, people.

Rob, he was. Didn’t want to put him on 2 teams, and when I wrote this article, he wasn’t “officially” on the Cavs roster yet. Will change it though as the trade def. went through

Next task: Cats on NBA staff. E.g., King Rex (Nuggets), Pat Riley (Heat)
