Pick 3

Do I see a GQ ad in Patterson’s future?

If you could choose any three basketball players to come back to UK whom would you choose?  I really started to follow UK basketball (I’ve yet to start following any other sport, but that’ll be changing soon), during Tubby Smith’s last year (see ya in the NBA never Morris).  My first game was UK vs. IU shout out to Olivia for that experience.  I started to go to all the games and tried to learn everything I could about the Kentucky Wildcats.  Obviously, the next couple of years made it hard for me to still be a fan, but I still would go to any game possible.  Just like Matt Jones, I also believe that Patrick Patterson changed the program and KSR in the best way possible, which is one reason why he made this list.  These are my choices for the three players who have played in the last five years.  Although, they weren’t the top scorers, they still contributed to the Wildcats in their own way whether it was on or off the court.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist:  MKG hasn’t even been gone three months and the BBN already wishes he would return.  While the BBN wishes him the best at the Charlotte Bobcats, it would’ve been great to have him here another year.  Out of the five that declared for the draft, he was the one closest to staying, and its hard not to think about would have happen if he had stayed.  He was a team member and a great role model for fans, and he will surely continue that during his NBA career.

Patrick Patterson: Patterson stuck with Kentucky through one of the worst times imaginable and him sticking it out paid off in the end.  He was the best thing to come out of the “forgotten years” and it would have been great if he had stayed one more year.  The fact that he got his degree in three years, made it to the elite 8, and went in the first round shows how far hard work can get a person.  On the court he always seemed to be a team player and would put his teammates first, yet he was still able to make a game changing impact.  Also, how great would it be if him and Noel had matching flat tops?

Ramel “Smooth” Bradley:  Bradley throwing up the ROC is something that most UK fans will remember for a long time.  I like to think of it as the original three goggles.  Bradley never got to play in the greatest that is the Calipari Era, but he still brought something to the court a lot of players didn’t, team spirit and enthusiasm.  Since the originator of the ROC and the three goggles are gone, UK players need to realize that fans need a new hand signal this season to represent our gr8ness.

Who would you choose?  Let me know in the comments or @HchildersKSR
