Canoeing has been part of the olympic games since 1936, when they were added to the bid in Berlin. There are two different types of canoeing, sprint and slalom. There are singles events, then doubles events. There are also different lengths of races. Here’s a video that shows a little olympic style canoeing.
I know my coverage of this sport has been less than lustrous, but when the United States don’t even crack the top 10 for medals over the history of the sport, then I’m less than enthusiastic to even think about it. Here’s a picture of the times for the event for tomorrow, and you can look on google to find not just the canoeing times, but also the times for all the rest of the events.
